In der Hauptkonfigurationsdatei ''/etc/postfix/main.cf'' folgende Zeilen hinzufügen

  relayhost = your.mail.relay.server
  
  smtp_sasl_auth_enable = yes
  smtp_sasl_password_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/saslpw
  smtp_sasl_security_options =
  smtp_sasl_mechanism_filter = login

Die Passwortdatei ''/etc/postfix/saslpw'' mit folgendem Inhalt erstellen:

  your.mail.relay.server username@yourdomain.comt:yourpasswd

Hashen der Passwortdatei

  postmap /etc/postfix/saslpw
  
Unter Umständen muss noch die Variable ''$myorigin'' angepasst werden und eine FQDN eingetragen werden, damit die Mails nicht vom entfernten Mailserver abgelehnt werden.
